In
order to encourage domestic traffic on certain streams, CONCOR
follows a policy of announcing a series of volume based discount
schemes.
These
schemes are basically aimed at sharing some of the benefits
of lower costs achieved by the company due to higher volumes
offered by the customers.
These
schemes are usually announced for fixed streams up to a definite
validity period, with a telescopic effect in terms of the
benefits offered.
The
discount per teu will normally increase as the overall voulme
increases. The discounts are usually offered in the form of
a rebate that is given after a customer has successfully completed
the specified volumes.
Volume
Discount for very high slabs (usually more than 300 teus)
are sometimes made available to customers who enter into an
agreement with CONCOR
committing the volume. Customers who commit volumes can be
given the discounted rate at the time of booking, but in case
the customer falls short of the committed volume, dead freight
is levied on the shortfall.
