AIR CARGO DIVISION

In pursuance of its objective to provide improved Intermodal logistics solutions to India’s trade, CONCOR entered the field of air cargo. Later air cargo business was formalized as a division at the Corporate office to provide a focussed attention.

CONCOR undertakes various Air cargo activities as follows:

  1. Road feeder services
    a)Airports to airports
    b)Airports to Inland container depots/Custom
    clearance centres.
  2. Air cargo clearance centres
  3. Centres for Perishable Cargo.
  4. Bonded warehousing for imports at its Inland container depots.
  5. Warehousing for non bonded air cargo. (where available)

Road Feeder Services


CONCOR has obtained requisite permission from customs at major international airports as well as at 49 other ICD’s spread across the country for movement of export/import cargo under bond. CONCOR currently provides road feeder services from Delhi, Mumbai, Agra, Kanpur, Ludhiana, Moradabad, Jaipur, Whitefield (Bangalore), Chennai, Sanathnagar (Secundrabad), Kolkata, Sabarmati (Ahmedabad), Nagpur, Aurangabad, Pithampur (Indore) etc. This service is proposed to be expanded to other places as well.

Air cargo complexes and Centres for Perishable Cargo

CONCOR is the joint custodian of the air cargo complex at Bangalore Airport. The complex handled more than 53824 MT in 2006-07. It caters to general, perishable, valuable and dangerous cargo as well.

CONCOR is developing a Greenfield multimodal cargo complex at Ozhar airport, Nasik, jointly with HAL. The complex will house an Air cargo clearance centre, Sea cargo ICD & a'Centre for Perishable Cargo for facilitating direct international air operations from/to Nasik Airport. It will also be connected by bonded road transportation to Mumbai airport and the seaports of Mumbai and JNPT.

Among CONCOR's immediate plans is one to facilitate the perishable cargo trade transiting through Goa Airport by operating a ‘Centre for perishable cargo’ at the airport.

On the anvil is ‘Development of Agri Exports by air from the North Eastern states’ by operating requisite infrastructure at the various airports in that region.

CONCOR is the joint custodian of the air cargo complex at Bangalore Airport. The complex handled more than 42000 MT in 2005-06. It caters to general, perishable, valuable and dangerous cargo as well. Imports desiring deferred payment of duty are offered customs bonding facility at ICD/Whitefield at Bangalore.

Bonded & Other Warehousing

Air Imports desiring deferred payment of duty are offered customs bonded warehousing facility at our ICD’s. There is thriving business at ICD/Whitefield at Bangalore. Bonded warehousing is available at other ICD’s as well. (a list of CONCOR ICD’s can be seen elsewhere for information). Warehouses can also be offered on leave and license basis, wherever available.

Air cargo is growing the world over. CONCOR plans to move hand in hand with this growth by steadily increasing its facilitation to the air cargo trade by participating in other activities as well.
